Hi guys, today we're gonna learn IELTS Writing task 2: The world's natural resources are being consumed at an ever-increased rate. What are the dangers of this situation? What should we do?
What are natural resources? Common examples of natural resources include air, sunlight, water, soil, stone, plants, animals, and fossil fuels. --> I'll pick 2 elements to talk about: plants and fossil fuels
Dangers/ Consequences: Burning fossil fuels → releasing carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions into the environment → warm the planet and acidify the oceans
Forests → absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere → The lack of trees/ The depletion of forests → allow a greater amount of greenhouse gases to be released into the atmosphere.
Solutions: Fossil fuels: use renewable energy like solar energy instead; the total amount of fossil fuels used by buses and trains is less than that used by several private cars → promote public transportation
Deforestation: curb the felling of trees by enforcing a series of rules and laws to govern it
